The movies of these Faux Film Posters do not exist. Some of the movie plots star alter-egos that I might have become had fate been different. Most of the pieces are loosely based on the 7 deadly sins with greed, lust, hypocrisy, deceit, and betrayal dominating the “film” subjects.
For years the majority of my work has been straight color photography documenting sleazy subjects of distraction, abandon and yearning; places and people that appear fictional, but are real. Subjects include commercialized places of leisure; motels, bars, restaurants, hot dog stands, Las Vegas, Elvis Impersonators. The photographs have saturated, lurid colors, yet feel lonely and desperate. These photographs became the settings for the movies in the posters.
